Full truck decal

has any thought of putting a decal on a truck rather than painting it. Kind of like Nascar does with there cars no paint just one big vynal decal. Or like half the truck almost like 2 tone paint.

Re: Full truck decal

its called a wrap, and many people do it, mostly for advertising, idk about just a flat color. nascar cars are painted before vinyl, fyi. and most have painted on elblems and markings to help with the drag coefficent

Re: Full truck decal

the wraps nascar use are not all one piece. but a few pieces. they are normally used for special schemes where the wrap is applied right over the normal paint scheme. they can be removed and the old scheme is intact.

also the decals on a nascar race car are not painted on, but vinyl, a few teams hand paint the cars for daytona/talladega to reduce drag, but is not the norm.

Re: Full truck decal

I've also seen wraps in camo for off road trucks. Maybe you can save your paint for resale.

Re: Full truck decal

I have been contemplating a two tone wrap on my truck. I ran into a company at SEMA that makes UV stable vinyl that has a custom paint look, depth and brilliance.

Re: Full truck decal

i got quoted 2300-2500$ for a full wrap on my truck, I thought about it and went through a friend for paint almost half price... of course my truck is now perma flat black instead of removable wrap.

2300-2500$.. seriously?., thats way to high priced, might as well just paint your truck.

Re: Full truck decal

Yeah that quote came from a company called Wrapjax here in Seattle, I ended up getting Hot Rod Flatz black paint job for about 1300$ with a bit of body work and it came out real nice.

Re: Full truck decal

i would go with the body wrap, it will be alot cheap then getting it painted 2 tone. I was planning to get some paint work done on my chevy, but it was going to cost me around 5 to 6 grand to do it. Oh i wish i had my own paint shop lol
