GMC Emblem In Colors Other Than Red

I plan to have the red GMC emblem on the tail gate removed. I am looking to find a GMC emblem for the front grill in either Green or Chrome. Anyone know of a source for this?

My dealer will be removing the obnoxious GMC logo from the tailgate when it arrives, now I need to find someone to color match the front logo to the metallic bronze paint.

Interesting.. I was cleaning the tailgate yesterday evening and I ran my hand over the bowtie.. it felt textured.. I'll have to examine this more.. but my feeling is, if the bowtie has crystal points.. I know a fellow who can make these into prisms.. So depending on the direction of the light is what color one would see.. I'll have to do a bit of research on this.

When I had my 2005 GTO (they were made in Australia) it was a common thing for the red in the GTO emblem to fade to orange. Must have been the paint they used over there or some thing. You couldn't do any thing about it cause there was the usual clear hard plastic cover over the top of the paint. I can't remember the web sight any more so might research it. But they sold vinyl overlays pre cut for all types of vehicle emblems and different colors. I had a blue GTO and bought blue ones and put them over the clear plastic between the chrome edging over the faded red was and it looked factory except blue. Looked great and never came off.

This post made me think it might be cool to change the colors on the GMC tailgate to red white and blue.

For two days I've searched the net for alternatives to this emblem modification.. Most images are which user/owner have simply painted over the bowtie with a desired color.. while another fellow actually used vinyl colored tape. I can't decide what I want to do with this.. because one reason is as I've stated above.. the rear bowtie is textured.. and would be rather hard to simply tap off and paint.. I would prefer a red bowtie.. but there are other things we need to attend to before we doing mynute aesthetics..

Most people use Plastidip. Spray it on and if you don't like it, it peels right off. Doesn't hurt the paint and you can get it in a bunch of colors. $7 a can at Home Depot or Pep Boys

I haven't bought any yet, but visually these are easily the highest quality way to recolor and easiest to remove for anyone with a lease.
