Scary, i just bought an 06 with 280,000km (yes I know its high). I have no idea the history on it. Should I even attempt to check the plugs or leave it as it is!

The spark plugs will have to be replaced sooner or later. Sooner is probably better, considering that you have no history. Just don't force them if they appear frozen. Probably best to stick with ACDelco, Denso or NGK.

Word of caution. Coils will have to be removed for access. Do not overtighten the coil mount bolts. The torque is 89 inch pounds, which is not a lot.

following this thread from the beginning, i saw danny45`s post from 2005 and saw a picture of a second generation colorado in his thread.
how did he do this? supposedly, he has a second generation truck.

Are any spark plugs hard to get to?
