Default Seating coil boots on plugs??

Has anyone else had the problem that correctly or incorrectly seated coils/boots feel exactly the same when you put them back on?

I can feel ZERO "bite" or feedback of anykind when I replace the packs...

I had to remove and replace the packs 3 times just to get the truck back to a drivable condition after I put new plugs in...and every time it "felt" the same...just kept doing it until my idle wasn't awful, assuming the bloody spring wasn't lining up

When I did my BMW with coil packs back in the day I could totally feel the boot seating on the plug...

The only one that give me trouble it #1 at the front because of the small wiring harness, any way to move that?
2-5 are fine no problem at all.

For the front one I took the plastic cover off the harness right there to give it as much flex as possible then carefully rotated the coil underneath it...holding the bolt up out of the way...I'd love to see the "textbook" method for that one! LOL
(If they just made the snaps on that wiring harness housing pop off it'd be easy to slide it out of the way, but they look permanent to me)

They have a small wht. clip that must be turned counter clock wise ( i think) at the bottom of the wire housing...Just turn them with a str8 screwdriver and it lets it free to give room to the #1 boot and plug...Ya gotta kinda look for it...White in color ...

BTW - on seating the plugs what I did last night was strecth the boot springs about 1/8th longer, as I wasn't convinced they weren't really making contact, and springs compress over time anyway....made a big difference to seating the plugs...there was actual feedback that felt like they were in place unlike before. It ran perfectly first time doing it this way...well except for my unrelated gremlin code that is!
