Well I'm hopeful my new (to me) 2012 Canyon will get anywhere close to some of your high mileage I5s. Mine is currently sitting at ~39,800kms, bought it a couple weeks ago with 38,500. Really enjoying it so far. Getting decent gas mileage if I keep my foot off the floor but it certainly can get out of its own way when I need it to.

Lowered 4x4: 1991 GMC Syclone - Pretty close to stock - 13.5s @97mph
Lifted 2X4: 1994 GMC Sonoma - 4cyl lifted 3" on 30" BFG A/Ts - SOLD
Stock 4x4: 2012 GMC Canyon SLE - 5cyl Z85

I have about 66,000 on 2007 and it has started throwing 5th cyl misfire code/check engine light...then it goes back out in about 12-24 hours.

I've had that too. It's been years, never done anything about it. Truck runs pretty smooth.

Try swapping coil packs. .(keep track of what you swapped and to where) and use a good scanner to determine if the misfire moves.

We had one on my old 2005 that defied finding it. Finally we swapped 2 at a time and got a change in misfire location on # 4. Swapped #4 to #1 and sure enough, now #1 was the misfire. Took maybe 6 or 8 months to narrow it down cuz it would come and go and only at idle.

Only 63K on my '06...just fixed a "idle dip" issue (good TB cleaning) and I hope to keep it running smooth until it $hits the bed.

I have 422,379 today. Original engine/transmission.
I joined this site back in 2008. I bought my Colorado new in '04.
I still have the truck and drive it daily.
I do all my own mechanical work. I come back to this site when I have difficult problems to see if you all have a fix.
Figured this thread is right up my alley.

Any questions?
