Timing belt or timing chain

Hello, I have a 2005 Chevy Colorado. Does it have a timing belt or timing chain? Googling seems to come up with contradictory answers. If it's a timing belt, how often does it need to be replaced? I'm approaching 70K and the dealer mechanic hasn't said anything, but I forgot to ask him.

Thanks.

It's a chain. I still have the sprocket with the failed variable valve actuator assembly attached to it.
