Cylinder Head

just wondering if anyone knows where you can buy a new cylinder head for the I-5 instead of the dealer or a wrecker. Not sure if there is any aftermarket heads out there for this truck. Also does anyone here have the specifications for the wedge type tool to remove the head without taking the timing cover off.

Re: Cylinder Head

You're still planning on replacing that head yourself hey? If I were you I'd head to the wrecker and find one there - you might even get to practice taking it off which would help you on the install. No aftermarket heads that I have heard of. I can't help you with the tool specs but there is a thread by Turbizzy I believe that outlines the head replacement and has a few pictures of the tool being used. Maybe you could borrow it from a local shop?

Re: Cylinder Head

You can get a new cylinder head for your truck from JC Whitney in the US, it`ll cost you about $3500.00.

Best get one from a wrecker, much cheaper.
