2004 Colorado I5, CEL on and code P0300 present

Hi all,
I'm getting code p0300, and have about ~125,000 miles on my 04 I5 engine. I've been reading that GM extended the original warranty to 100K (for premature valve seat wear). Since I'm over the mileage limit, is there anything GM can do for me? I doubt it. I'm just checking to see if any of you guys had complained enough to get a "free" repair, and were successful with that. If so, who did you call?

This is frustrating, I've read many of you have had the same problem. Arrrrggggggggggggghhhhh! Thanks in advance!

If you have a good relationship with your dealer (ie: bought many vehicles from them) you can ask if they will call the regional Chevy rep and try to get you a "good will repair/discount". Probably a long shot at your mileage, but it doesn't cost anything to ask.

I wouldn't automatically assume you have worn value guides. You may just have a misfire due to other worn parts, spark plugs, wires, etc.

Good Luck...

Thanks for your feedback man, you got me thinking about that.....I had an appt setup for tomorrow morning at the dealership, but decided to try and swap the plugs today. Idle is much smoother, no more roughness or CEL (so far). I'll give it a week until I feel better about it, but things are looking up. Thanks for your help, glad I did not panic......... Reading all that stuff about p0300 can really get you down!
