Exclamation Heat will not work at all, A/C blows cold

I cant figure out why I dont have heat in my truck, A/C is perfect but will only blow the coldest setting. When I go to adjust it the temp will not move at all, stays blowing ice cold

- Checked out a few other threads and I looked behind the glove compartment and made sure all the wires are connected which they are.

- maybe I need to flush out the hoses with water?

- Considering taking off the plastic dash piece and looking deeper into the heat controls to see if the gears are misaligned

ANY ADVICE IS WELCOME, THANKS!!

The first two things that come to mind are the blend door not moving and a "Deathcool" coolant (Dexcool coolant) blockage in heater core. The blend door is moved by a cable connected to the temperature control. A common failure is for the cable to come loose on either end.

If you are using Dexcool coolant and get air into the system that stuff can turn to a brown sludge. Open the radiator cap and look for any evidence of a brown gritty or gooey sludge.

that above AND. The first thing to check when you have no heat is coolant level. then you get to figure out why its low and fix that. Aren't cars fun? LOL-- FYI, on my 07 that cable did come loose at the heat door under the dash. I think I used a cable tie some how to fix it. Can't remember....

There is a recall out on the HVC valve that you may want to check. It be related to your problem.
