Re: How To Install Suspension Maxx Leveling/Lift/Lowering Kit

I wondered if the V8 trucks got heavier TBs. The parts guy at my local dealer looked up '09 torsion bars for me. The part number for the TB is the same regardless of whether you get the 3.7 or the 5.3L. The dealer didn't have any V8 Z71s on the lot so I couldn't eyeball them.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Then it sounds like your keys aren't calibrated correctly or aren't cranked enough. Get under there and check it out.

i was thinking they were on backwards but idk if you can put them on backwards or not and there is an inch and a half to two inches of bolt sticking up still. dont know if that is enough to get the 3"

Re: How To: Suspension Maxx Level/Lift/Lower Kit for 4WD or Z71

Sir? Where do you get off calling me that?

1. Lift the front of the truck and place on jackstands.
2. Remove the bolts from the keys.
3. Remove the keys/cams.
4. Match the 'A' on the cams to the number '2' on the keys.
4. Put keys back on the TBs.
5. Use one hand to pull down on the key while you start the bolt.
6. Adjust both sides until 1.5" of bolt shows through.
7. Lower the front of the truck.
You can literally do this in your driveway. Or you can drive up here this weekend and let me do it.

Re: How To: Suspension Maxx Level/Lift/Lower Kit for 4WD or Z71

Need to crank the keys alot more.

If you maxx out the adjusters and don't have 3", follow the steps I gave you in an earlier post and reset the keys to A2.

Until the upper arm touches the bumpstop OR until you run out of bolt. Based on your pics, you should easily be able to have twice as much bolt sticking up.

Re: How To: Suspension Maxx Level/Lift/Lower Kit for 4WD or Z71

Ok, start with half as much. Looks like you had about 1" of bolt showing in the pics. So crank them until 1.5" shows. Don't guess either, use a tape measure.
