So today me, my friend and his dad(though mostly me and my friend) attempted to install a 3/3 gf drop kit following the directions in this guide. Freeing the sway bar link took FOREVER!!! We had to use locking pliers and have someone hold a crowbar on the back side before we could get it off. Also we undid the LOWER ball joint as it says in the walkthrough, but then looking at the pictures in this walkthrough its the UPPER ball joint that is undone.......so which is it? Anyways we just backed through our steps and im either going to pay to have it done or we will try again another weekend. We knew we were going to run out of daylight before getting to the back.

yeah, removing the lower is i think a typo in this write-up. We couldnt get the sway bolt out with the lower removed. Frustrating.

i removed the sway bar link and turned the wheel and it came out....

but it was definetly a pain to get the sway bar link though, held vise grips while i had a ratchet wrench, took a while!

You don't need to remove the upper balljoint to get to the shock assembly.

Just push the lower arm down a little and you'll be able to wiggle the assembly out. Done it on mine a million times with all the suspension work we've done on it.

As for the swaybar link, hold the nut with a wrench and use a small socket (I forget the size) on the bolt to back it out. Works TONS faster!!

Do you have to drop the spindle to remove the strut, or can you leave it on ?

Make sure all the bolts are torqued down tight. I has a squeak in my last truck and found out one of the u-bolts was not tightened completely.
