31x10.5. Size of rims don't matter, it just changes your sidewall height. That size tire is marginally larger than your stock tire.
You MIGHT get away with a 265/75-16 (or 70/17) on a Z71. Thats 31.6x10.4. You'll need at least 5" backspace, or less (closer to 4). A favorite among people here are 4.5" backspace on a Z71 due to the wide flares. Will 31x10.5 r15 fit a stock 2005 4D z71 package? |

Rim size doesn't matter, as long as it's available. Personally, an 18" wheel on a 32" offroad tire is too big. Not enough sidewall (in my opinion). I have Duratracs by the way. His 2005 most likely sits lower. Partly from design changes over the years, but also due to sagged suspension. I am speculating you have a newer vehicle since you are on 18's however you failed to mention anything about your truck. Plus that tire is 1/2" shorter and 1/2" narrower than the OP's latest suggestion. Width in mm/25.4 (275/25.4) Result multiplied by sidewall percent (10.8*65%) - this is sidewall height Result multiplied by 2 (7.04*2) - this is the sum of both sidewalls Result added to rim diameter (14.07+18 ) (275/25.4)*0.65*2+18=32.07 Last edited by 08Canyon; 07-20-2012 at 12:15 PM. |

In my opinion, you MIGHT be able to run that size tire. Also in my opinion, I think the tires would look silly being tall and skinny and you sacrifice performance a lot with a tall tired.
With that lift, it seems you'd be safer but you may still hit swaybars but I don't think you would hit the body mount. I don't know how many people run 33x10.5 so I can't remember reading too much about clearance issues. 33's on a Colorado/Canyon is just a big tire, plain and simple. Too many fitment issues and a major power robber. Oh wait, just reread your post. You have no lift and want to only use a body lift. I go back to my original statement that you may hit suspension components. If you want my opinion, I'd say do a suspension lift instead of a body lift and get a 32, or near that size. But no larger. It will look a lot better because you won't have massive bumper gaps. You won't have to to relocate any body penetrations. You won't have to relocate your fan shroud and possibly risk heating problems. Sometimes a cheap solution isn't always the best solution. Plus you can probably lift it a couple of inches through suspension for about the same cost as a 3" BL. And it's easier to install. If you don't want my opinion, then forget that last paragraph. :D |
