Default Gas mileage

I just bought an 08 chevy colorado crew cab Z71 4X4 with a suspension lift, and wide mud tires with 18" rims.. it gets horrible gas mileage.. any suggestions?

buy a toyota!!!!! lol..... my 05 with all my mods only get 16m.p.g. it is what it is. maybe intake,exhaust ect...

how tall are your "wide" tires? what gear ratio in the rear you got? tall tires kill gas. my truck was getting the 21-22 bone stock. up to 23 with a K&N cone in the stock air box (open top). now i got the K&N FIPK and Lund Tri-Cover, its closer to 25mpg. last time i drove it on the highway ( my mom has the truck for now) i forgot to firgure out the mileage, but it was pretty **** good.

was actually asking jr, who happens to have the same last name as me... creepy....

lol, but yea, taller tires on same gearing. on my last long trip in the truck, fort campbell to maryland, i'd make it to Bristol before having to fill up. thats about 350miles and thats at jus under 1/4 tank left. thats striaght hiway with cruz-control set

yeah cruising low in a gear helps alot. biggest thing around town is to keep the acceleration rpm's low

yea, it sure does. my cars souped up and i cant help but get on it, usually when i'm running late. lol. and that jus sucks the gas more tho.

i'm in the same boat. and it's raining here and any little extra power and the back end goes all squirly. fun at times then i look down at my gas guage and back off

ooooh yea. i know about the tail end. right after i got my truck i was drivin in the rain, with out trying the tail end came out. tight in the middle of an intersection.... i was able to correct it no problem, but i was like "HOLY SH&&&&&&&&T!! " lol. i wasnt expecting it at all
