Ran 8.7 to 9.0 on the 1/8 spinning the stock tires...That's like 13.65 to 14.0 1/4 mile times. Handles so nice pulling out on the freeway with added power.
Yes the tank is additional coolant for the intercooler system. Recommended if you are going to being towing. The Facebook page Mallett Cars and website MallettCars.com has dyno on it. Don't have good pics of the water tank, cant see it in under the hood pics.
Would like to see some vids while driving, accelerating, towing if you put any up. I've been considering the kit. I inquired about it to Mallet but I haven't gotten a response from them...

Yes it is a super nice package! Cost of basic Supercharger is $6900.00 with Custom high volume tank is additional $300.00. You can DIY, its a bolt on kit, we include a detailed manual with color photos. You can have a dealer install out there (you are in California currently?) We will tune the ECM no additional cost. And of course you can come to our shop in NC and have the Mallett team install. $1200.00. We have our Carb EO numbers so our system is legal in California. The water tank really aids in towing and at high altitudes!
Check out the website, MallettCars.com and Facebook page Mallett Cars.
It has a 35'+ trailer hooked up to it, I'm not surprised by the squat.[/QUOTE
The trailer is 28 feet long. The truck has a leveling kit so it raised the front 1.700 in height. That is why it looks tail down. Plus chains weren't pulled tight. The trailer was empty in photo, guys were headed to pick up 2000lbs of exhaust systems. Handled the load nicely.
Is the only reason that there is only a 7000lbs towing capacity on a gasser is because of the power band? If that's the case i might just have to get a supercharger some day.
The tow rating of a vehicle is based on a number of things, engine power, brakes, suspension, etc. power alone does not change the towing rating. More power will make the towing a bit less strenuous.
Always stay within the OEM ratings with any vehicle, regardless of modifications made.
True, but all things being equal, the truck with the Mallett Super charger is going to tow your 5000 lbs trailer with allot less effort than the stock truck due to that extra 100 ft pound of torque, probably allot easier than the Duramax.
I had a TRD supercharger on my Taco, cost $2,900 and took 6 hours to install. Two hundred thousand miles later when I sold it, it was still pulling like a mule. To bad Chevy does not have a performance division to develop things like this.
Many variables can affect a transmissions life, the Supercharger will not be one of them. General Motors gave Mallett Performance Cars a rating to stay under, which they did.
That is why the Mallett Supercharger does not void the factory warranty. Supercharger will have no ill effect on the transmission for the life of the vehicle.
From my experience towing with the stock V6 up steeper hills with a trailer near the limit of the truck (6Klbs range) I am thinking that the stock motor may do more harm to the trans than a more powerful motor that required less shifting.
Yes that is true. With a supercharger you are in the power band of the motor, the transmission doesn't have to shift up and down as much. That is what really stresses the trans, clutch engagement and disengagement.
Colorado tows great with the Mallett Supercharger and custom water tank![/QUOTE
Just curious if anyone checked fuel mileage while towing, I remember in one of the other threads that the MPG actually improved with the supercharger in a non towing situation.
Yes that is correct mpg improves with the supercharger in a non towing situation. I don't currently have data on fuel mileage while towing with a supercharged truck, that is a very interesting question though, would be interesting to monitor that and get some numbers.
Really curious about that, becoming a bit more intrigued in a supercharger, in particular I like the lower RPM torque characteristics of the Mallett. Perfect for me, towing a 5500 lb. trailer.
Not sure yet if I'm keeping my 2015 yet though, thinking about a 2017 4x4.

If you are located near NC you should stop by the shop and drive a supercharged Colorado. It drives great and it really helps the truck perform better when towing.
I have a suggestion- overlay the diesel power on a dyno sheet vs stock V6 vs Mallett V6.
Also a question- does the mallet supercharger use the factory air box? Or different air filter system? Does it work good with the GM performance intake?
