Does anyone know if the 2007-2008 Seat Recline Handle is a) a revised design and b) will fit a 2004?

The part numbers are 19121877 for the '07-'08 and 89039094 for the '04-'06

Thanks!

I don't know if it fits, but maybe the service manager at the dealer would? I think this part is under 5 bucks. If you have a broken handle, maybe the cost is worth the risk.

Today, I broke the recline handle on my drivers seat for the second time (first time was under warranty).

The 07 handle is $2.85 from gmpartsdirect.com, & the 05 handle is $8.58.

Any new input on this swap?

and the end that fits the shaft on the side of the seat...

Sorry the pic is really fuzzy.

Any 07-08 owners willing to pull their handle off with a torx & let us now if the 07-08 handle has the same end as the 05 models?

Edit... sorry Wolf, I posted the pics after your reply. Thank you for the info... it is greatly appreciated.

I can't believe they used the same design from the S10/Sonoma. I had a sonoma with a broken handle, and on my canyon it's just one more pull away from breaking.

I am SO glad I have power seats.

This is still a problem?

Wow...

If the handles are the same, which they seem to be, that's interesting how the part number is different.

I just noticed that my driver side recline handle and lumbar support lever are broken too. I went to the gmpartsdirect.ca website and when they finally gave me a quote i was a little surprised. 16$ for the recline lever and a whopping 46$ for the lumbar. With 13$ shipping total would have been 75$, not including tax. Does anyone here know of another place that sells these parts cheaper ? 75$ seems on the high end for a couple peices of plastic.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide me

btw i live in Canada

I got mine from a junk yard for $1.00. I forget what GM vehicle I got it off of but it was not a Collie.

If it's still under the bumper to bumper, I would think it would be.

A warning .... My handle broke (2005 Colorado 4-door) and I found an S10 replacement part (part number 390093942187) from S10 Warehouse. This part does not fit. The diameter of the hole for the shaft is too small and the spline for the slot is too thick.

My lumbar knob broke on me a while back while I was still under warranty. I had the dealership order me a new one when I had the truck there for something else. When it finally came in they called me but I never got around to getting back down to the dealership to get it. :(

Now my recline handle is broken too. So now I got to replace them both!

Since I am the only one who drives my truck, I do not think these knobs have moved once I did the first adjustment. I keep the lumbar at "zero", and even then it feels like it's constantly pressing into my back. Not in a bad way, really, but I don't need to crank it up.
