you can lift it under warranty they have to prove the lift caused whatever issue you are having and most guys who lift never run into issues, also GM supports a few manufacturers that make lifts for this truck and then they won't question your lift at all if drivetrain issues occur and in the worst case they will tell you remove the lift drive it a few days and if the issue still occurs they will fix it so your basically covered on all basis (not sure how old you are but I know most the time it's the parents who help get the truck who say no mods till after warranty but if this is the case just get the warranty policy and read through it and you can show them the section that states they must prove it caused the issue) GM's pretty good we had one guy here with tranny problems and they had his truck for 5 weeks with a c-notched frame and 4/5 lowering kit(they didn't fix his issue because he was just making a big deal over the shitty stock tuning of the transmission shift points but none the less he had GM's entire engineering department trying to solve his issue) and a bunch of other members have also had warranty work with lifts and lowering kits installed

But I'll check back for the Photos and congrats on the new truck man enjoy your 355 and hopefully you didn't get one of the friday trucks knock on wood

its a 3.7
from what i can tell, its got a TON of power (compaired to my old 2.8 s15, anything has a lot of power)
ill have to look into which kits will work with the warrenty. also running a little low on cash so thats a factor as well

Nice truck.

But just so you know, the 4x4 version of the Z85 has the exact same suspension (ie; torsion bars) as the Z71. You didn't really gain anything by settling for the Z85.

except for saving about $2000 (according to gm site)
i do want to get some wider tires though. the 235 look tiny on this truck. sucks it only came with a compact spare, but im looking for a steelie rim so i can at least get a fullsize spare

Well true. But you don't get the cool Z71 sticker, the plastic skid plate, or those exceptional Bilstein shocks. LOL

got the skidplate, got the tow hooks, locking diff
its basically a z71 minus the wheels, shocks, flares, and decal. all of which i could do for far less than 2000 lol
i plan on doing a 4" lift on 33"s/ imo looks best on these trucks

yeah im glad i ended up with a z85 because really it is just the tires/wheels
but ive got some h3 wheels in the mail and i cranked my tb's so for about 600-800 (depending on the tires) my truck should be better than a z71

yea i think its more then just the wheels and tires...I dont think the suspension is the same..completely...parts of it maybe but not all of it...but its a good lookin truck u got and should be very proud of it..

Nice looking truck! Hold off on the lift because the current ones don't fit due to differences with the spindles.

There are a few differences between the Z85 and Z71...the Z71 comes standard with the G80 locking rear diff...optional on the Z85. The control arms in the front suspension are a bit beefier on the Z71's as well, and i think the leaf spring perches on the Z71's hang down about an extra inch.

i dont know about the control arms so your probably right. but the leaf spring perches are lower on 2wd z85's but not 4x4's. mine has the g80 code but i havent had a chance to try it out because i dont really know how to get a tire off the ground. as far as i know only the jounce bumpers, shocks, wheels and tires are different on z71's compared to 4x4 z85's
and now the control arms

Nice truck! congrats

If you've got a set of General tires that can be your first upgrade right there, those tires are junk, LOL
