Good luck with that. I ended up making my own. There's a brush guard available. I believe it's from Hunter. I'm not a fan though. I saw someone on here with a pre-runner light bar for a Silvy on their truck. Didn't look too bad.

You could buy one of these for your truck and have super strong shackle recovery and light mounts too with the added bonus of a winch mount as well. Let me know if you want one. I will tell you where to get them.

PNW.ColoradoZ71,

Gee, that looks familiar. :)

I hoped you'd line up someone else to build them. BTW, I love mine.

Many thanks !

I actually did get someone else to build them for me. I am selling them too. All are special order and are being powdercoated now instead of being sent raw. I believe my price now is the same as what you paid for yours. What did you pay if you do not mind. How much was shipping? I am using FedEx and each one has been about 130.00 to get them there. I have the price on these set at 425.00, that's about what you paid directly from the builder isn't it?

Ugg i hate shipping. :(

Thats a decent price for a solid bar like that. Now if it came with lights, that would be even better :D

Well let's consider this. Roughly 125.00 for materials. Plus the brackets to build off of that is 3/4 inch plate that is laser cut and has the holes for the shackle and the mounting bolts. Takes a guy about 5 hours to fabricate and weld up. Shop rate for fabrication is never gonna be less than 65 an hour. Then it needs to be powder coated at a price of 75 dollars. Add that all up and then tell me it is expensive. Compared to something that could be mass produced... ya, it is expensive. However, these are all hand built. Show me another option out there from someone else that is as good. I can think of one or two that I have seen on this site, however one guy knows what it takes and has said that he is not willing to make what he made for himself for anyone else cause of the time it takes to do. It would be nice to have other options than the weak bolt onto bumper light bars that are not stable enough to keep the lights from flickering when driving gravel roads. Even the brush gaurds on the market are not strong enough for anything serious. Bull bars are fine for mounting lights but you loose access to your recovery hooks. I have HID Hella 4000 lights on mine, these are 9 inches round and they do not flicker at all on gravel roads, even at speeds of 60mph. I have tugged harder than I ever could on the shackle on either side compared to the factory hook and never fatiged anything. I have broken one factory hook first winter snow wheelin, you will not break anything here. I have also winched several trucks and trees with this setup with no problems. The biggest thing I have winched was a Dodge Mega Cab 3500 with 8" lift and monterous tires that tips the scale at 10 thousan pounds. He was stuck so bad I had to anchor my truck, (not advised by the way) and doubled the pull off of a pulley (block) at the Dodge then brought the line back to a shackle on the light bar. I got the truck out with ease, where staright pulling it did not work..(no block). Nothing fatiged or bent. My biggest wory was burnning up the winch wich is rated at only 8 thousand pounds. I would have never did this if I did not have synthetic rope on the winch. So my point to this is that this is a very high quality built unit that you can use and not worry about. If you want something just to hold lights, there are definitely other options out there.

Tedge

Ok, so check this out. I love my brush guard. Great build. Strong. Sturdy. All that kind of stuff. I hit a deer doing about 40 and the only thing that happened was me sh!tting my pants.

But I hit a turkey square and it shattered out my grill costing a grand to have Chevy fix it.

So how much would it cost to make that pre-runner with only the grill guard? Or more specifically, modified to cover the opened area of my grill, incorporating my current brush guard with your pre-runner?

thats going to cost A LOT of money shipping back and forth, we usually do trucks that are local. and full bumpers usually include

cutting off the front of your frame, boxing the end of it with 1/4" steel, then welding the tube straight off there.
