We are expecting our first child in mid-April, and we bought a Chicco travel system last night. Has anyone tried to install the seat base in the rear of an extended cab? I have heard that only 25% of the base can hang off the seat, I think I am O.K. there. However, I cannot get the base at the right angle. The bubble level indicates I need to tip it back, that is to say lift the front of the base. I need to find something that will lift the front, but that won't slip out from under the seat. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I also have a had-me-down Graco seat that I will try, as well, to see if the base fits any better, but I'd rather use the Chicco that we picked out.

Thanks,
Kevin

I've currently got 2 kid's car seats in the back of my excab. It works barely for them, but they do work. I think rear-facing for the infant seat somehow has to go in the middle if I remember correctly... I've never had an infant seat in the truck, but I can take some pics of the current setup I have if it would help.

I think that's what was recommended by the nurse that teaches our birthing class. I could understand wedging it toward the back side of the seat, it wouldn't be able to come out, but i want to make sure what ever I put there won't come out, because that would probably be worse than having the base intstalled a the proper angle in the first place. Thanks for your input.

I used a rolled up towel and made sure I tightened the hell out of it! And yes, put it in the middle.

I had a reverse facing behind my passenger seat for about a week when people were visiting. We also used the latch system on it. How can you make anything fit in the middle?

He can, because jackedupcanyon owns a crew, unlike what Horshack asked.

Ah ok, was just wondering since I have a coverplate with picture of a child seat with a latch on it in the middle the back wall.
