Ok, i searched for a bit... looked at alot of pictures and still can't run upon what I want to know.. or get an idea about

Setup..
'05 z85, on stock 205/75/15 (27.1" tall)
compareable to a decent size 20 (255/35/20)

my ??'s

2/3 or 3/4

Now I've seen guys hitting the bump stop with a 4" drop in the back. Is this true with the z85 suspension. Some guys say it don't hit, others say they have 1.5" travel... clear it up for me

Now i know in the front you'll rub hitting big bumps and dips. This i'm not real worried about (i'll do the old fix it trick till i get home and really make it professional)

now this is why i ask about 2/3 or 3/4..

it's been awhile since I had to think about staic drop truck (sig shows my truck at home... just missing the bumper right now)

i will be getting 18's when i go back home for the summer (at school 1000 miles away)

now since the difference between the stock and an 18" on 255/40/18 (SOMEONE CORRECT ME ON THAT TIRE.. don't remember) .... is 2"

now what i'm worried about is the tranny xmember.. if i do the 2/3 and put the 18's on.. that would put me close to hitting that right???

I'm really wanting to do 3/4 drop but with the considering of the 18's kinda nervous about the xmember.

pill me in on ur guys thoughts!

and if anyone has pictures... POST THEM.. can't find any around here

thanks!

3/4 is the right drop for a z85. thats what most of the people on here have done. 255/40/18 will give you 26" of total diameter so rubbing shouldnt be much of an issue. the crossmember wont drag unless you plan on doing 35 mph over speed bumps

the 3/4 on a z85 is the same as a 2/3 on a zq8 which everyone does, but with a 20" tire you will rub most likely. dont even worry about the tranny crossmember, get an aftermarket one if its close.

Crossmember isn't a huge deal, but I was catching mine fairly often. And I never had to worry about it with my previous 2/3 drop.

The clearance I had with a 3/4 drop and 27" wheel/tire combo (not the best comparison, but it's all I have):

And the 3/4 on the same 20's:
