OK heres the deal... i have an 05' GMC canyon z71 4X4 reg cab... i have the CST 5" suspension lift with the 1" rear shackle... my truck sits real nice right now... However after about a year of haveing the lift on.. i want to go higher... i really want to do the 3" PA BL but dont want to pay the 500 bucks for install... I know ppl here who have installed the BL before... just wanted to really know if it would be easy/ possible to do with just my self installing... LET ME KNOW! thanks in advance...

It is possible. I did mine. Not sure I would use the term easy. Just takes time (and the correct fan clutch spanner wrench).

I used a big set of channel locks on the fan clutch nut.

I tried that. Did not work for me. Had to drive around town (in a spare truck) to get a spanner wrench. The first did not work either......Eventually the THIRD worked!

right on... so do u know the type or size of the correct spanner wrench?

Slightly bigger than a 10" crescent hammer.

thanks guy ... really appreciate the good info... i just found out my wheel bearing/hub assembly needs to be replaced and so that puts a bit of a damper on buying the BL right now.. but i will print out this info for when i do ... thanks again!

Was able to use O'Reilly Auto Part's loaner program to borrow the spanner wrench.
