Sweet! You gotta do something for that front-end rake...

Back on topic try a stealership or a junkyard, or even have one custom made. Another option is have spacers made to fill the gap.

I want to do this! Short drive shaft.........That is not good. Suspension maxx is (maybe was now) looking into a SOA kit for our trucks but may be detoured now if there are drive shaft length issues. Thought there was another member that did it - do not recall him having any drive shaft length issues???

Ive had a drive shaft shortened before. Also balanced, painted and they installed new u joints. Cost me $80.

I went to my SEMI truck parts store called INLAND TRUCK PARTS. They have a big shop and machine shop where they specialize in fixing and making SEMI truck parts. They do most of us budget hot rodders work around here.

Might wanna check into that and see if you have that type of place available. They obviously work on semi stuff all day and those are some huge heavy duty peices. So I think they can make our little shaft hold up easily :D

PS...mine was for my S10v8.

yea, it was manrod or something who did it, if you look at his leafs, they are flat(ter) than mine, and i believe, dont quote me because he hasnt told me, that he just had an AAL instead of replacemtn leaf packs. in his pictures his differential is laid back further than mine, i left the diff at stock angle and will just run hi-angle u-joints.

yea i did this on a sloped drive and a cluttered garage. litterally had to kick shit outa my way just so i had enough room to put me and the diff. (hence the bags of sacrete, pile of wood, generator, ect lol) its hot out :(

Do you have a rope ladder that rolls out of the cab on the passenger side when you open the door for the gf?

bumper is over 36" from the ground and in nc you cant be lifted more than 5" over factory height. there are tons of people who break this law, so im sure its not going to be a problem, expessially since im i kentucky where nobody really cares anyways.

That's a great pic with the GF, especially because my wife's the same height and your truck is setup pretty much like mine would be if I did the SOA. She saw it and thought it was pretty cool. Got any pics of how you handled the crossmember? I've been rolling that one around in my head and haven't arrived at a solution I like yet.

uhh lol, i havent handled the crossmember yet, its hitting

right now im in a prediciment. the driveshaft is too short. and hitting the cross memeber, as i see it my options are as follows

1. cut crossmember, then box a driveshaft "tunnel", extend the factory driveshaft
2. get a two piece custom drive shaft made and mount the carrier bearing on the crossmember<-this will cost appx $500 and result in a very high pinion angle on the second section of the drive shaft
3. get a custom 1 piece drive shaft made and cut the crossmember.
4. see if i can find a 2 piece from another truck that will be the right length and use that.
5. insert your solution here

any ideas or places you know for me to get a custom driveshaft made cheap would be huge, a local guy quoted me $500 for a custom 2 piece.
