what's the best way to do it...
i also have a trail blazer, i put a drop kit (slammed with some 22's) and it completely took the smooth ride out of the car......now with my colorado, i dont wanna slam it, but i wanna even out the back with the front so that i can slap some 20's on it........what's the best way to do it without taking the smoothness out of it....

I'm no expert on lowering but I should point out that 20's alone will make it ride rough...there's hardly any sidewall on the tires to absorb bumps and so forth so you'll feel every bump in the road. I've noticed a difference in ride quality going from 15's to 17's with the same diameter tire and same suspension.

Which suspension do you have? Z85? ZQ8? Z71?

If you just want to level the truck by dropping the rear then all you really need are 1" drop blocks.

i was thinking though, if i go with 20's, i'll have enough space to get some bigger tires, making the ride better.....yay or nay ????

Look in your glovebox...there's an RPO code sticker there...look at the codes and tell us if you see Z71, Z85, or ZQ8. One of the three will be in there.

You've got it backwards.

I think he means going with 20's, as opposed to the 22's he has on his dropped blazer.

If your goal is smooth ride, lowering and going to 20's won't help.

if you like the ride now. just put some 1" blocks in the back, and run the meatest tire you can without rubbing.

My ride is smoother and better now with a 2/2 drop, QA1's and 20s compared to stock. Although, my stock wheels were 18s and the Goodyear RSA's are crappy for comfort.

You have a heavy load in the bed, that helps the ride.

Weight of the truck doesn't factor into the ride difference of 15", 18" or 20" wheels/tires since they are unsprung weight. My 255/35r20 Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S ride much better than the stock 235/50r18 due to their construction. Still, even with the weight being equal on my truck whether I'm running the 18s or the 20s, the ride is better than stock.

You can also ask any of the others that have installed QA1's on their unloaded truck. The ride is far more superior.
