i want to paint my rims black. i wanted to use a high heat spray paint that is flat black in color. to add extra protection i wanted to coat it with a clear coat for wheel paint from duplicolors. by using the clear coat i no there is going to be a shine, but do you think by using a flat black paint that it will be less shiner then using the duplicolors black wheel paint??

Powdercoating will be more durable and you wont have any shine if you dont want it. You will get some shine your way. Try it on a scrap piece of this or that to test it, that will give you the answer.

Why don't you use the Dupli Color Satin Black wheel paint? You don't necessarily have to use the clear coat with it. I used the graphite and clear and I'm really happy with the results.

You don't need clear coat on single stage paint.

The satin black should basically be flat black. I mean it may have a little more shine to it but it shouldn't be much. There is someone who used the wheel paint with no clear and he said that he didn't have any problems with it as far as durability goes.
