Bought the 06, crew cab with the I5 engine two weeks ago, 36000 miles, seems to be in great shape. Drove it 100 miles, got the check engine light, replaced the fuel cap, turned off the check engine light, drove another 200 miles and it's on again. Not quite as technically proficient as some contributors, more of a repalce and croos my fingers guy. any recommendations on most likely things to replace first? I thought I had it with the cap, but the light came back on two days later. One code says Gross leak in evap system, why does it take two or more days for the light to come on? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, I noticed under the hood, on the right side is a light hose that looks like an air intake that just ends about where the battery is, what is this? I need to get a manual. Thanks, love my truck. Moved down from an ex cab F150 that was just too big and my first tank of gas gave me nearly 22 mph!
