I Spent 3 years tracking down a tick rattle in my 05 ext cab

and finally found it was in the pass. rr. door. The inner door shell was loose betwenn the inner shell and the seat belt retractor reinforcement. By grabbing the shell and rein at the back side pinch weld and twisting, rocking I could make it tick. I put a small vise grip "C" grip on by the belt mounting area and got it to stop, Ah ha moment.

I drilled and tapped a hole and inserted a screw to pull the two panels together and at long last it GONE.
I drllied a 9/64 hole in the door shell and a 1/8th in the reinforcement and tapped the reinforcement as it is to hard and thick for a self drilling screw. It doesn't take much to stop the movement of the two panels. I hope this helps. Good luck.

These thing can drive some people over the edge.
