OK, I've had this beautiful truck for 9 months... and it has developed an odd rattle inside the cab. The sound reminds of of a loose seatbelt fastener and is almost more of a click than a rattle. When I press the brakes, sometimes I get the rattle. Dang, I hate trying to describe it... it also reminded me of a coin or something being in the track of the front seat or something.

Let's put it this way, it sounds so much like how a buckled seatbelt would sound (if you moved it around while being latched) that I was holding my own seatbelt latch going down the road. It seems to eminate from the right side... so that's where I was looking. After a while of looking underneath both front seats, I have given up.

Needless to say, there is no way I'm going to try and get the dealership to find it! So, I need your help!

If you have buckets, could it be the seat belt latch hitting the center console? Mine will do that if the passenger seat is in one position on the track...I just move it one position forward or backward and it stops.

I don't think so... that seems like it would make a more of a plastic to plastic sound. This definitely sounds more metalic in nature.

does it do it when they passangers seat is used or mt. my passanger seat rattles all the time mt.
maybe when it was made a piece of the stamping got stuck in the seat(under the material in the frame of the seat)??
just a few thoughts.. i live with mine as i'm not ready to pull the seat out and apart to look.

I Spent 3 years tracking down a tick rattle in my 05 ext cab  and finally found it was in the pass. rr. door. The inner door shell was loose betwenn the inner shell and the seat belt retractor reinforcement. By grabbing the shell and rein at the back side pinch weld and twisting, rocking I could make it tick. I put a small vise grip "C" grip on by the belt mounting area and got it to stop, Ah ha moment. I drilled and tapped a hole and inserted a screw to pull the two panels together and at long last it GONE. :D
I drllied a 9/64 hole in the door shell and a 1/8th in the reinforcement and tapped the reinforcement as it is to hard and thick for a self drilling screw. It doesn't take much to stop the movement of the two panels. I hope this helps. Good luck. These thing can drive some people over the edge.

Check to see if the front passenger belt buckle is rattling against the plastic on the side of the cab.
