I know GMPP is GM Performance Parts, so only question now is how the price compares, bearing in mind if I buy through GMPP I would still have the stock system to do something with. It never rots out so not like people generally would need the old stock system unless it is somehow damaged, maybe offroading?

Well, it's just a question I had, if I am lucky and my 2005 holds out long enough, I am hoping GM will put the LGX motor in it anyways, 6 to 18 months I am hoping for, could hold out until maybe 2018 model year? The sound and power increase sounds good to me though.

I can understand your thinking on waiting for more "HP"...
Take it from someone who owns the 3.6 LFX.... It is way more motor than the new "700" needs.... Compare #'s with some of the V-8's currently on the market... Very few really overwhelms the little LFX !!! Good luck with your future decisions !!!

The GMPP Exhaust is a perfect blend of sound... A little louder at startup and a awesome rumble when stepping on the throttle.... Does seem slightly better cruising up steep grades... Pull the trigger... I think you will like it !!
